MST focused on young people returning home
A Multisystemic approach to successful transitions home
Are you looking for an evidence-based service to support children, young people and families where there is a plan for reunification?
Multisystemic Therapy (MST) teams not only work intensively with families, including kinship carers, to keep children and young people who are on the edge of care safely at home, they can also support children and young people to return home from residential or foster care settings.
MST teams can offer intensive support to the young person and family prior to their return home, and continued support to young people and families following their return home, to ensure that positive changes are sustained.
To do this effectively, MST teams work closely in partnership with children’s social workers, reunification teams, mental health services, schools and youth offending services.
We are currently supporting children and young people to return home with Action for Children in Manchester, Doncaster Children's Trust, Fife Council and Leeds City Council, and are in the process of setting up an additional team with Newcastle City Council.
