YEF funds MST for Child Abuse and Neglect (MST-CAN)

MST-UK & Ireland have been awarded grant funding for new MST-CAN teams in England & Wales from the Youth Endowment Fund (YEF)!
Two new MST-CAN teams have been developed in North-East Wales (Flintshire and Wrexham) and in Sandwell. These teams have joined the Leeds MST-CAN team in working with the University of Kent and Teesside University to undertake a pilot research trial of MST-CAN.

The YEF was established in March 2019 by children’s charity Impetus, with a £200m endowment and ten year mandate from the Home Office. The Fund exists to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. They do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.
Having a supportive home helps to keep children safe from involvement in violence. Where children live in homes where there’s conflict or domestic abuse, alcohol or substance misuse or where other family members are involved in crime, they’re at higher risk. That’s why YEF are investing in programmes that support families, like MST-CAN.
