Paul Moloney
Paul Moloney is a compassionate MST Therapist with the Bail Supervision Scheme, dedicated to safeguarding and supporting young people involved in the criminal justice system. Guided by a strong commitment to social justice, he works to empower parents, address systemic barriers, and promote community‑based alternatives to detention. Paul’s practice is rooted in collaboration—working closely with families, communities, and statutory and voluntary services to create supportive environments where young people can reach their full potential.
Previously, Paul worked with the Intensive Family Support Service (IFSS), supporting families whose children were victims of child criminal exploitation. In this role, he partnered with parents and services to safeguard young people, highlighting the complexities of CCE and advocating for a victim‑centred approach.
Paul graduated with a BA in Youth Work from Dundalk Institute of Technology before completing an MA in Human Rights in Criminal Justice at the University of Limerick, where he was awarded the 2024 Best Dissertation Award for his research on capturing the voices of harder‑to‑reach young people.
His professional background spans child protection in residential care, youth substance use services, and adult homeless services. Paul also volunteers as a group facilitator, supporting adults affected by addiction and those experiencing physical, mental, or emotional challenges
